Dr. Laura Brodsky became an audiologist when two of her four children were born hearing impaired. Seeing the difference in her children’s lives from going to the audiologist, Dr. Brodsky made the decision to go back to school and earn her master’s degree in audiology from Adelphi University, a distinct change from her original course of study, which was American literature. She earned her doctorate from Arizona School of Health Science shortly after and completed her audiology internship at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center.
Dr. Brodsky describes the best part of her job being the difference she makes in her patients’ lives. Helping them hear again and having them come back and tell her how much they love hearing the voices of their children, grandchildren, and family is what drives Dr. Brodsky each day.
Residing in downtown Albany, NY, Dr. Brodsky is an active member of her community. She’s a member of the Historic Albany Foundation as well as the Albany Center Gallery.
Audiology isn’t the only area in which Dr. Brodsky excels. She is also an award-winning photographer! Exploring her creative side is something she looks forward to and enjoys. When she isn’t taking photographs, Dr. Brodsky can be found spending time with her ten grandchildren, all ranging from toddlers to adults, and spoiling them with her time and affection.
