CapitalCare Internal Medicine River Road

For the safety of our staff and other patients, we are not seeing any patients in the office who have fever, cough, sneezing, sore throat or shortness of breath. If you have these symptoms and feel you need to be seen, please call us and we can direct you to the appropriate location

All medical visits will be done via telehealth unless they require laboratory testing or physical exam. Patients who need testing or an exam will continue to be seen in our office. We will call you in advance to be sure you are not experiencing symptoms of COVID19.

If you have an upcoming appointment, we will call you to convert that appointment to a telehealth visit.

Insurance companies changed their rules to allow us to see you via a telehealth visit. We are using a program called which our patients have found convenient and easy to use. This does not require any type of software installation. We will send you and email/text, you click on the link, type in your name and you will be connected to our office. It seems to work best from a phone or ipad, but can work from a computer that has a webcam and microphone. We strongly prefer telehealth visits because we can actually see you and because insurance companies require this type of interaction for us to bill them for a medical appointment.

Please do not cancel your appointments - we want to continue to keep you as healthy as possible and we do not want any of you neglecting your health during this stressful time.

Lastly, please understand that the number of calls to our office has been very high. If you have a non-urgent question or concern, please communicate with us via the patient portal so that we can keep the phone lines come for those with urgent issues.

Thank you and we hope that we will be able to get back to usual business soon. In the meantime, stay home and stay staff.

Walk-in Hours

Holiday: In the event of bad weather or a holiday, please check our website to be sure that we are open.
Note: Please call our office first before coming in if you are ill to avoid the potential of unnecessarily exposing other patients and our staff to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). While we don’t currently offer walk-in hours, our practitioners are easily accessible to care for you in multiple ways, including over the phone, using a video visit (telemedicine), or in the office while following strict infection control procedures to keep you safe. Whatever your need, you should call our office and our team will determine the best way to care for you.

Telemedicine is a great alternative to coming into the office. It allows your practitioner at our office to see you face-to-face while you remain safely at home. The process is simple. You don’t need any apps, software, or accounts. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer, and a reliable connection (wi-fi or cellular). Just click the link we send to you and, when prompted, enable your camera and microphone. Due to these challenging times with the COVID crisis, there’s no fee for your telehealth visit for the vast majority of patients, and your visit is documented in your medical record. Make sure to call our office for any routine visit or problem you may have so we can maintain your continuity of care. We don’t know exactly when this crisis will end, so we want to be sure you receive the care you need now.
