A Message from CapitalCare Pediatrics Guilderland:
As the Coronavirus and its impact continue to evolve and develop, we remain diligent on the safety of our employees and patients. We are undertaking the following steps:
- We will be trying to schedule more visits in the morning.
- We ask that you do not bring siblings/relatives to the office visits. Please limit the patient to one caregiver.
- Attempting to bring sick patients back ASAP.
- Triaging all sick visits prior to appointments. Instructing any patient with mild symptoms to stay home.
- Staff who have contact with patients will be wearing a mask.
- There will be no stickers, lollipops or toys available.
- All magazines have been removed from the waiting room.
- Our office is thoroughly cleaned every night.
We are in close contact with the county and state health department. There is NO IN OFFICE TESTING available. ONLY patients with true respiratory distress (SOB), severely ill or immunocompromised patients will be sent for testing. Regardless of exposure.

Please call our office first before coming in if you are ill to avoid the potential of unnecessarily exposing other patients and our staff to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). While we don’t currently offer walk-in hours, our practitioners are easily accessible to care for you in multiple ways, including over the phone, using a video visit (telemedicine), or in the office while following strict infection control procedures to keep you safe. Whatever your need, you should call our office and our team will determine the best way to care for you.

Telemedicine is a great alternative to coming into the office. It allows your practitioner at our office to see you face-to-face while you remain safely at home. The process is simple. You don’t need any apps, software, or accounts. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer, and a reliable connection (wi-fi or cellular). Just click the link we send to you and, when prompted, enable your camera and microphone. Due to these challenging times with the COVID crisis, there’s no fee for your telehealth visit for the vast majority of patients, and your visit is documented in your medical record. Make sure to call our office for any routine visit or problem you may have so we can maintain your continuity of care. We don’t know exactly when this crisis will end, so we want to be sure you receive the care you need now.
