Dr. Brazis is a board-certified general surgeon, specializing in general, laparoscopic, robotic, and breast surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at Western Maryland College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education. Prior to earning her medical degree, she worked for several years as a teacher and was recognized as employee of the year. During this time, Dr. Brazis enrolled in Goucher College, where she completed a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program.
Dr. Brazis completed her internship training at the Brighton Medical Center in Portland, Maine, and her surgical residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she served as chief resident and was awarded the Golden Apple – Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Brazis is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an active volunteer in her community. She has served on several hospital committees, has coached local soccer, basketball, and little league teams, is a deacon of a local church, and is also a member of the Western Maryland College Sports Hall of Fame and North Harford High School Sports Hall of Fame. She volunteers at the Albany City Mission and currently serves as St. Peter's Hospital chief of general surgery.
