Dr. Cláudia Farrell joined our group in October 2013. She is from Portugal where she has completed her medical school and a 5-year program pediatric residency. From 2009 to 2010, she worked in pediatric intensive care at Hospital Fernando Fonseca in Amadora, Portugal. In 2010, she moved to United States to start a family and continued her work in pediatrics by completing a 3-year program pediatric residency at Albany Medical Center, New York. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Portuguese Pediatric Society and is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
Dr. Farrell cares for children from infancy through college age and has a comprehensive approach to promote health at different levels. She is particularly passionate about infant nutrition, bringing a new European approach to "baby food". Her clinical interests are broad and also include behavioral and mental health disorders, allergies, asthma and infectious diseases.
Dr. Farrell is married and has two young children. She strongly believes that being a mom has played a major factor in shaping the pediatrician that she is today. She loves the outdoors and gardening is her favorite hobby.
