Frederic Hellwitz, MD received his Bachelor in Fine Arts and Master in Fine Arts degrees in music performance from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He received his premedical post-baccalaureate from the University of Southern Florida in Tampa before receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from Albany Medical College. He went on to complete his internship and residency training at Albany Medical Center Hospital in general surgery and diagnostic radiology, in which he served as Chief Resident. He also completed his fellowship in thoracic imaging at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Hellwitz is board certified in radiology and sits on the Radiology Resident Selection Committee and Radiology Education Committee at Albany Medical College. He is also the section head in chest imaging at the Department of Radiology at Albany Medical Center.
