Laura Engelbrecht is a certified physician assistant with an additional master’s degree in public health. She completed her physician assistant program at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and her masters at the State University of New York at Albany, School of Public Health, where she had a concentration in social behavior and community health.
While working in public health, Laura found her passion for helping others. She was inspired to have more of a direct impact on people’s lives which led her to pursue a career in medicine. Laura ties in all her experience and education when treating her patients. She believes in ensuring patients succeed in their own health goals and actively listening to their needs and concerns. She has a special interest in women’s health and mental health.
Laura is on several committees through the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and through them volunteers in her free time. She takes care of her own physical and mental health by running and spending quality time with her family.
