We are currently looking for patients for the following trials:
Prostate Cancer
1) A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo Controlled, Multi-Center Phase III Study of Study medication on Prolonging Bone Metastases-Free Survival in Men with Hormone-Refractory Prostate Cancer.
Men with Prostate cancer on hormone treatment that has not spread. Patients will receive an Injection of study med or placebo (inactive ingredients). The study will last about 3 years with monthly office visits. Patient must be on continuous hormone treatment or have had an orchiectomy (removal of testicles).
Men with prostate cancer on hormone treatment that has not spread but has had 3 PSA rises in the last year. Current PSA must be > 2 and <20. This is an oral treatment lasting for 42 months

2) A Randomized, Double-Blind, Multi-Center Study of Study Medication Compared with Standard of Care Medication in the Treatment of Bone Metastases in Men with Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer
Men with prostate cancer on hormone treatment that has spread to the bones. Patients will receive a monthly shot and a 15 minute IV (through a needle in your vein) infusion of the study medication or placebo (inactive ingredients). 3) A Randomized, Double-Blind Parallel Group Study Comparing Casodex 50 mg Plus Placebo to Casodex 50 mg Plus Study Medication Administered for 18 Months to Men with Prostate Cancer Who have Failed First-Line Androgen Deprivation Therapy (Assessed by a Rising PSA) Followed by a Two-Year Extension Phase
Men with prostate cancer on hormone treatment that has not spread but has had 3 PSA rises in the last year. Current PSA must be > 2 and <20. This is an oral treatment lasting for 42 month

Urinary Problems
1) The Urology Research Department, at the Urological Institute of Northeastern New York, is now accepting new patients for a clinical research trial for men with bladder problems, using purple grape juice as an alternative medicine. If you are a male over the age of 45 with bladder problems, you may be eligible for the study.
Do you suffer from the following bladder symptoms:
- Frequency
- Urgency
- Straining
- Incomplete emptying
- Night time urination and/or post-void dribbling

2) A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of Fesoterodine as an Add-on Therapy in Men with Persistant Overactive Bladder Symptoms Under Monotherapy of Alpha Blocker for Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms
Men with lower urinary tract symptoms (straining to urinate, stopping and starting of urine flow, slow or weak urine stream, frequent and /or urgent urination) who are currently being treated with medications like Flomax or Uroxatral and still having overactive bladder symptoms (frequency, urgency and/or incontinence (leaking of urine).Patients will be treated with an oral medication vs placebo (inactive pill) for 12 weeks.

3) A Multi-Center, Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel Group Study of the Safety and Efficacy of a Single Treatment with Two Dose Levels of Botox® Purified Neurotoxin Complex Followed by a Treatment with Botox® in Patients with Urinary Incontinence Due to Neurogenic Detrusor Activity
Patients with incontinence (leaking of urine) due to neurogenic bladder due to spinal cord injury or MS (multiple sclerosis).

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
1) A Post-Marketing Study Using Prolieve for the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Patients with an enlarged prostate who are going to have Prolieve treatment. Patients will be followed for a total of 5 years to evaluate the treatment effects.

Bladder Outlet Obstruction and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (BOO/LUTS)
1) A Phase II, Randomized, Double-Blind, Parallel Group, Placebo Controlled, Multi-Center Study to Evaluate the Safety of the Co-administration of alpha blocker Study medication with anticholinergic study medication Using Urodynamics in Male Subjects with Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) and Bladder Outlet Obstruction (BOO)
Men age >45 with Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms and obstructive voiding symptoms (straining to urinate, stopping and starting of urine flow, slow or weak urine stream, frequent and /or urgent urination) for at least 3 months. The treatment period will be 12 weeks with an oral medication or placebo (inactive pill). Patients will be required to have 2 urodynamic tests to evaluate the bladders response to the medication.

Renal Cell Carcinoma
1) A Randomized, Double-Blind, Phase III Study to Evaluate Adjuvant Study Medication Treatment versus Placebo in Patients with Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma and High Risk of Recurrence
Patients with Clear Cell Renal Cancer who are at high risk of recurrence to receive 24 weekly IV (through a vein in your arm) infusions with study or placebo (inactive infusion). CT scans will be done every 3 months to look for recurrence of the cancer. Patients will be followed for a total of 5 years.
