LabCare is Now a CDPHP Preferred Lab

Information for CCP CDPHP Members

This preferred laboratory designation, which went into effect on February 15, 2020, means that no CDPHP member will be financially disadvantaged if they visit a LabCare draw station or have their labs drawn in any one of CCP’s practices compared to another lab in the area.

Now, CCP CDPHP members who have a preferred laboratory benefit, and choose CCP for lab services, may have no out of pocket expenses.

For example:

CCP Patients who have CDPHP insurance with Preferred Lab Benefit
High Deductible Plan The cost of lab services will be covered once you reach your deductible limit so you won’t have to pay anything out of pocket.
Non-High Deductible Plan If your health plan requires a copay for lab services, the copay will be waived.
CCP Patients who have CDPHP insurance without Preferred Lab Benefit
High Deductible Plan With CCP’s preferred lab designation, you will see no changes to your copayments or out of pocket costs and can continue using CCP for lab services without any financial disadvantage as compared to other area labs.
Non-High Deductible Plan With CCP’s preferred lab designation, you will see no changes to your copayments or out of pocket costs and can continue using CCP for lab services without any financial disadvantage as compared to other area labs.
What does "preferred lab" mean?

“Preferred lab” is a network benefit and this means that participating labs can offer physicians and members improved quality, access and service, at a lower cost of care. When you need lab work, you can save on your out-of-pocket costs simply by choosing a preferred location. *Refer to your member materials or call member services at the number on your ID card to determine which services are applicable to the deductible, copayment, and/or coinsurance.

How you know if you have the preferred lab benefit as part of your CDPHP plan

You can call member services using the phone number on your insurance card – (518) 641-3140 – or visit member.CDPHP.com to review your member benefits. Sign into your account (or create an account if you don’t have one); check member benefits; and search for “diagnostic testing – laboratory preferred” to see if you have preferred lab coverage.

If you need lab work, select one of CCP LabCare’s freestanding blood draw locations in the area in Albany, Clifton Park, Delmar, Latham, Saratoga Springs, or Troy, NY. The LabCare network includes these sites and lab work performed in any of our CCP practices.
