General Services - What is Family Medicine?


Family medicine encompasses a broad range of medical areas. We are trained in the care of all age groups, from infants to adults for both men and women. Below are some of the types of services we provide:

  • Newborn/Pediatric Care: Well child visits, routine immunizations and screening tests, acute care for most childhood illnesses and injuries; chronic care of illnesses such as asthma, allergies, acne, eczema and many more.
  • Adult/Geriatric Care: Well adult visits (referred to as annual physicals), acute care and injury needs, chronic care of broad range of illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, reflux, asthma, allergies and many more.
  • Gynecologic Care: PAP smears, breast exams, birth control and family planning, menstrual problems, menopausal issues, endometrial biopsy, colposcopy.
  • Minor Surgery: Removal of warts, corns, calluses, skin tags, cysts and other skin lesions; treatment of ingrown nails; biopsy of suspicious moles or skin lesions; suturing of minor lacerations.
  • Medical Exams: Physicals including school and college, pre-operative, sports, camp, job, adoption, DOTs and workmen's compensation cases.

Although we do not provide obstetrical care, we are able to treat a variety of medical problems that arise during pregnancy.
